Weber opens D.C., new transportation head office in California
Weber Distribution, a California-based logistics service provider, has opened a new combined distribution center and transportation headquarters in La Mirada, Calif.
The 180,000-square-feet facility, located 22 miles from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, will provide additional space for Weber’s logistics activities and house a public warehousing operation.
Some 42,000 square feet of the facility are now dedicated to Weber’s transportation headquarters, including its fleet and freight management teams. The company provides consolidation, just-in-time delivery, deconsolidation, cross-docking, transloading, and trucking services.
The other 138,000 square feet are dedicated to public warehousing for general commodities. One of the first companies to occupy the building was Pentel, which manufactures writing instruments for distribution to Wal-Mart, Target and Office Depot, among others.
Weber operates four other facilities in the Greater Los Angeles area.
