WENDY’S PICKS RYDER AS THIRD-PARTY PROVIDER
Ryder System, Inc., based in Miami, announced on Monday that Wendy’s International Inc., the restaurant chain, has selected Ryder to be its third-party logistics provider.
Ryder will assess and analyze Wendy’s current distribution process, which links more than 100 suppliers with 5,200 restaurants.
“We need to keep our restaurants supplied on time with the freshest produce in the industry,” said Judy Hollis, vice president of supply chain management at Wendy’s International.
“Ryder will strive to improve the overall efficiency of Wendy’s carrier network,” said Tony McGee, manager of business development for Ryder’s Transportation Management Group, and will particularly “focus on Wendy’s delivered freight pricing on food and packaging items.”
