Wolfe named to head Port of Olympia
The Port of Olympia in Washington has appointed John Wolfe executive director, effective Jan. 1.
Wolfe, who has worked at the port since 2000 as operations director, will succeed Nick Handy, who is retiring at the end of the year. Prior to joining the port, Wolfe worked for Maersk Sealand in Tacoma, Wash. for 10 years.
As executive director, Wolfe will oversee the port’s daily operations and its primary businesses — the marine terminal, airport, Swanton Marina & Boatworks, and property management.
Port officials said they had recruited for the executive director’s position since May when Handy announced his retirement. The port interviewed six candidates for the job in November.
