World Shipping Council adds new staff members
The Washington, D.C.-based World Shipping Council has appointed two new staff members to help represent liner carriers serving the U.S. market.
Anne Kappel will serve as vice president of the trade association. She was senior director, corporate communications for Maersk Inc.’s U.S. division.
Charles Diorio will be director of legislative affairs. He replaces Doug Schneider, who left the council to accompany his wife, an active-duty Coast Guard officer, on her new assignment to Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Diorio has been practicing maritime law in Baltimore. He previously served 10 years as a Coast Guard officer.
