XPORTA LAUNCHES LANDED COST SOFTWARE SUITE, TEAMS WITH IBM
Xporta Inc., a trade software developer based in California, has launched a suite of landed cost software tools designed to allow exporters to give potential clients accurate quotes for door-to-door delivery of goods to any location worldwide.
The company also announced a partnership with IBM to make its landed cost software available to IBM WebShpere Commerce Suite users.
Xporta's software calculates the total cost of shipping goods internationally, taking into account, duties, taxes, freight charges, product price and other fees. Analysts have predicted that landed cost software will play a critical role in promoting international electronic commerce. Other companies active in the landed cost software market include Vastera, ClearCross, myCustoms, Tariffic.com, Nextlinx and From2 Inc.
Xporta says its software can help companies determine the best location to source an order when inventory is available in multiple countries and that it also can enable a supplier with many products to
quickly upload and maintain door-to-door cost information.
