   Accounting and tax firm KPMG has appointed Douglas Zuvich to national leader of its Trade and Customs practice.

   In this position, Zuvich will manage the Chicago-based practice’s trade and customs accounts in the United States, including the development of business plans for companies involved in international trade. He will also work with KPMG international member firms to expand the organization’s global trade and customs business.

   Zuvich started with KPMG in April 1997 as a manager in the firm’s Trade and Customs practice. For a three-year period, he served as vice president and controller for Mitsubishi Motor Sales in the Caribbean. In January 2002, he rejoined KMPG.

   He started his career with U.S. Customs as a regulatory auditor. He holds a customs broker license and is a certified public accountant.
